The Patient and Carer Participation Group (PCPG) was set up in 2012 and brings together carers, patients and members of staff representing a range of LOROS services. It provides feedback and insight from patients and carers’ experience to make LOROS the best place it can be for everyone, all the time.
The group discusses a wide range of topics including support for carers and the facilities at the hospice as well as individual services. Members can also become involved in ways that draw on their individual skills and interests such as speaking at events, helping to improve patient information, or by talking to people using or who want to know more about LOROS services.
Meetings take place four times a year and last for two hours. These have usually been held at the hospice in the early evening as a convenient time for most attendees but we are looking to learn from our experience of meeting virtually during the Covid-19 pandemic to make them more accessible to a wider range of people.
