Sleepy toddler Pollyanna Bland was the youngest person to set a time in the Hinckley Fun Run.

The 10-month-old tot, pushed in her pram by her mum, Anne Newbury, set an impressive time of 11 minutes and 27 seconds for the one-mile run.

But it wasn't her first time around the course – Anne was eight months pregnant with Pollyanna when she completed the run last year.

Anne, of Leicester city centre, said: "When I was pregnant with Pollyanna last summer, I decided to keep running for as long as I could, so I was pregnant with her when I did the same fun run.

As well as the one-mile fun run, Anne took part in the more competitive 5km run held straight afterwards on Tuesday night.

The two runs are organised by LOROS hospice in Leicester and last year's event raised about £8,000.

The charity was helped out on the day by Hinckley Running Club and Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council closing roads in the town centre for the event.

Christian Weikert-Picker, of the Loros fundraising department, who is also vice-chairman of the running club, said: "We had a super evening with nice weather for the runs in Hinckley and about 200 people took part in the fun run and 190 in the 5km run."
