By playing the LOROS Lottery you’re making a huge difference. For £1 per week you can support your local hospice and be in with the chance of winning up to £2,000.
All profits from our lottery go straight to LOROS, so you get a chance to win and a chance to care.
The LOROS Lottery is vital income for LOROS, here’s why…
Over £14,000,000 has been raised by LOROS Lottery supporters over the last 24 years
Did you know that on average over 50% of lottery income goes straight into the Hospice each year, which equates to over £750,000! The remaining income goes towards direct running costs, including the prizes. For further details to view our terms and conditions, responsible gambling information, how to get in touch, odds of winning and to learn more about how your support helps the Hospice please see our gambling and you page.
It takes £8 million to operate the hospice and its services each year. The LOROS lottery contributes almost 10% towards this each year and it is a key regular source of funding for LOROS.
Play in memory
Over the past 23 years, LOROS Lottery players have joined for all sorts of reasons but playing in memory of a loved one is why 75% of people join our Lottery.
“I play the LOROS Lottery in memory of my Mum, Marilyn.
"Mum passed away in LOROS in March 2011 and previous to that benefited from symptom control support and Day Therapy.
"She celebrated her 59th birthday in LOROS. With the help of the brilliant nurses and staff we organised a spa morning and a cake. Mum died a week afterwards. We will never forget how special the Hospice made her last birthday." Carolyn, a LOROS Lottery player
“My Grandad Erwin is the reason I play the LOROS Lottery, I signed up in his memory.
I was three years old when he died in LOROS in 1991, I can still remember being in the Hospice and spending time in the play room with my Brother.
"He benefited enormously from the care provided on the inpatient ward and had visited Day Therapy prior to his death.
"I know there is a draw every Friday morning and it’s nice to know his memory goes on even to this day, each time I’ve won a prize I’ve told the family and we’ve all remembered him together.” Tom, a LOROS Lottery player.
“I play the LOROS Lottery in memory of my Mum, Eileen.
"Mum passed away in April 2018 and previous to that played the lottery for nearly 20 years.
"It was lovely to know that I could continue playing her number and that it could be in her memory.
"Taking over the number was easy and I know my Mum would be happy that as a family we continue to support such a great needed local charity.” Mark, a LOROS Lottery player.
Every single Friday, we make somebody’s day, by surprising them with the £2,000 winner’s call. Why not take a look at some of our recent LOROS Lottery winners stories.
