The Big Picture.
Have you ever wondered what it takes to run a hospice like LOROS?
LOROS supports more than 2,500 patients each year and need to raise at least £6 million in funds. 65,820 meals are prepared for patients each year and 1,500 volunteers help support the Hospice.
These figures are so big it’s hard to imagine.
This Hospice Care Week (7-13th October) LOROS is showing people what it takes to run a Hospice. We've created a big picture, a huge picture in fact which uses items from the Hospice to illustrate the numbers.
Our mobile resource centre will be out across Leicester during the week, come along and say hi, play some of games and find out more about our services.
Our shops will be getting in on the act with their window displays featuring a baking theme and some interesting facts about #WhatItTakes to run a hospice. Why not come in and browse through the goodies on offer. Look out for our digital screen displays in each shop, with information about who we are, what we do and telling you about forthcoming events in the calendar. Find out more about our shop shop locations.
Our Youth Engagement Officer will be visiting various local schools during the week to raise awareness of the services offered by LOROS, as well as the impact that young people can have within their community. This will include talking about the opportunities they can be involved with following Hospice Care Week, including volunteering, work experience and Hospice School. For more information please email us.
