We are asking our wonderful business community if they can save their stamps (used or otherwise) from the doom of the bin, and instead put them aside for LOROS! It would be helpful if the stamp was removed from the envelope (just ripped off / still on the paper is fine) to save on space, but we want to make things as easy for our supporters as possible!
Graham Hunt aka "Stamp Man" has been making the most of donated stamps for over 15 years. His tireless work has currently raised over £87,000 for LOROS, leaving Graham needing a further £13,000 to reach his £100,000 target. This is where we need your help, and it couldn’t be simpler!
Graham describes his exact processes as “trade secrets” but what he can tell us is that he spends an average of 35 hours each week sorting through the stamps to decide how best to utilise them. With contacts locally and throughout the UK, Graham decides who best to sent them to based on whether they are collectables or to be recycled. Modern stamps (in particular) are then sent all over the world for collectors there.
Graham donates the profits from the scheme to the mattress fund, which provides crucial replacement mattresses for the beds on our ward; and he is so close to reaching his £100,000 target! With your help, lets get him to this amazing milestone!
It really is as simple as saving your used stamps (they can be new, used, franked etc.), it really doesn’t matter! Save them all and pop them in an envelope to send to the LOROS Fundraising Team, who will then ensure they find their way to Stamp Man.
