Dying Matters week 2019

Every year in May, LOROS hosts Dying Matters, a national awareness-raising week to encourage people everywhere to talk openly about death, dying and bereavement.

It’s not an easy subject to talk about but we hope, by putting the topic out there it will make it easier for people to discuss.

The theme of this year’s Dying Matters Week is ‘Are We Ready?’

Our LOROS Local vehicle will be across the county during the week, taking in Hinckley, Market Harborough, Oakham, Loughborough and Leicester.

LOROS staff will be available to help you start the conversation.

We’ll be asking people to consider what their funeral wishes might be….buried or cremated? What songs would you have played? Who would you want to arrange your funeral? Would you have flowers or donations?

Talking about death may not be easy, but it can be a great relief to get the conversation started.

LOROS will be holding a week-long programme of events and activities so check back here regularly to find out what we’re up to.

Digital Legacy

Social media and the digital world is a growing part of people’s lives, but have you ever thought about what happens to your online presence when you die?

Following someone’s death the digital information that is available about them online is known as their digital legacy. This can include websites, blog listings about the person, their social media profiles, photos, videos, gaming profiles and other interactions they have online.

LOROS has put together some information to help think through the aspects of your online presence.
