Basic seated exercise 15-20 minutes
Being physically active is good for us, but not everyone can take part in activities like walking or cycling. Even a small amount of activity can be a tremendous boost to our wellbeing and help you to strengthen. Don't worry if you haven’t been as active for a while these basic seated exercises will be gentle and easy to follow. So why not give chair-based exercise a go, you might be surprised at just how good it makes you feel!
Please keep in mind that everyone has different levels of comfort when it comes to exercise, so start slowly. For safety, it’s important to consult a doctor before participating if you have recently undergone surgery, have any recent injuries that could be aggravated by exercise or you are unable to perform the correct posture during exercise (the slightest difference to the correct form of each exercise could result in pain or further injury).
You will need:
A solid, stable chair without wheels and be able to rest your feet flat on the floor. Wheelchair users must ensure that lap belts and brakes are applied
Loose, comfortable clothing and some water
