LOROS Hospice will be holding its Thanksgiving and Remembrance service live on YouTube and Facebook on Father’s Day, Sunday 21st June.

The service, which is usually solely for the families of patients who have died at the Hospice, is available for the first time to all those who have lost a loved one.

Stephen Burnham, Spiritual Care Chaplain at LOROS, said: “We are all aware of the devastating impact of Coronavirus. It has seen many families bereaved at a time when due to lockdown they are also more isolated and have less support.

“In addition, people who are already coping with grief may be finding it harder to manage too. And Father’s Day is often an emotional time for many.

“We thought it would be a nice gesture to make our service available to anyone who might find it of comfort during this difficult time.”

The service will begin at 7pm on Sunday 21st June, streamed live on the hospice’s Facebook page and YouTube

Poems, readings, prayers and stories will all feature in the half hour service and there will be an opportunity to join in from home and light a candle for a loved one.

“We hope our service will give support to those in grief, and encourage people to share and spread the word to anyone who might like to join us”, added Stephen.
