Hospice Heroes

LOROS Hospice Heroes are those supporters that go above and beyond to fundraise for us on a regular basis.

Fundraising for your local Hospice is amazing. Whether you want to run around the park 100 times, organise a fashion show or host an online auction, fundraising gives you the freedom to bring your ideas to life! You’ll be able to raise money for LOROS whilst getting creative and having fun, plus, it will leave you with an amazing feel good factor!

“Seeing the care and support LOROS provided not only for my Nanna, but also for the family, made me and my sisters want to raise money as a thank you. After participating in the Twilight Walk, I caught the fundraising bug and decided to take on the challenge of organising my own event. My first fashion show was a huge success, raising £1,683 for the Hospice! It spurred me on to organise even more events and I’ve done one every year since.

“I’ve now raised £13,837 and don’t plan to stop any time soon! Becoming a Hospice Hero gives me an amazing sense of achievement. It’s my way of giving back and a reminder of the special bond I have with LOROS and my shining star, Nanna Simpson.

“If I could offer advice to anyone looking to organise an event for LOROS, I would say: go for it! The Supporter Engagement team at the Hospice are truly amazing and will support you every step of the way.”

Although the coronavirus pandemic prevented Charlene from holding her planned fashion show this Summer, she's continued her work as a hero, setting up her Facebook business, Birdies Wishes, which sells uplifting bracelets and greeting cards to keep everyone going during this time.
