About this workshop

Topics included during the session are: • Indications for using a syringe driver, to include advantages and possible disadvantages. • Common medications used in a syringe driver, to include compatibilities and diluents. • Setting up the syringe driver, to include necessary equipment, documentation and ongoing monitoring and trouble shooting skills. By the end of the session delegates will: • Increase their confidence in the appropriate use of Syringe Drivers at end of life • Increase knowledge of safe use of medications in a syringe driver. • Gain practical skills in syringe driver administration relevant to their day-to-day role This session is complemented by the ’Symptom Management at End of Life Study Day’. Please note – a certificate of attendance, not competence, will be issued.
