Topics included in the session are: • Listening and questioning skills-good practice tips and hints • Blocking behaviours-what stops a conversation • Dealing with challenging questions at the end of life • Having open honest discussions about serious illness By the end of this session delegates will have: • Enhanced communication skills • Increased confidence and skills to answer challenging questions from patients and their carers • Increased confidence to initiate end of life discussions • An opportunity to rehearse skills in a safe and supportive environment Increase knowledge of strategies for conversations about serious illness

Registered nurses/nursing associates/allied health and social care professionals who hold an individual professional registration within health and social care settings e.g. NMC, HCPC.
