About this workshop
Fully funded by Health Education England East Midlands for care homes, residential care homes, primary care staff, domiciliary care staff and other support staff such as phlebotomists across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
This half day workshop uses a mixture of group work, videos and rehearsals to improve confidence and skills in communicating with patients and families, specifically when addressing challenging questions about end of life care.
The session will include:
• Listening and questioning skills-good practice tips and hints • Blocking behaviours-what stops a conversation • Dealing with challenging questions at the end of life • Having open honest discussions about serious illness
