About this course

MND affects up to 5,000 adults in the UK and is most likely to affect people over the age of 50. Specifically designed for health and social care staff working with MND patients, this session introduces basic facts about Motor Neurone diseases, as well as the potential impact they have on individuals and their families. The session will cover:

  • Motor Neurone Disease – what exactly is it?
  • Management of symptoms
  • Withdrawal of non-invasive ventilation
  • Self-care and rsilience

Delegates attending the session can expect to leave with:

  • Increased knowledge of the condition and symptoms to look out for
  • Understanding how best to make patients feel comfortable
  • The ability to speak with confidence to family members about their loved ones condition
  • Understanding how decreased mobility may impact on care requirements
