Executive summary
This LOROS Three Year Strategic Plan (download full report in PDF) sets out the route map that we have carefully designed
for the organisation up until March 2019.
It has been written in consultation with our major stakeholders as well as in response to the fast-changing healthcare and income generation environments. It is vital that LOROS does not work in isolation and to that end we will remain active in promoting and attending operational and strategic meetings at local, regional and national level.
For more than 30 years LOROS has provided excellence in end of life and palliative care. The charity is held in high regard throughout the communities of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland with services that touch the lives of many thousands of people every year. We remain focused upon the organisation’s clear vision, which the team of staff and volunteers deliver with a true passion.
In the coming three years, our aim is to:
- Examine and further develop the range of our clinical services with a particular focus on providing care in the community that supports patients and their families closer to home
- Invest in our staff and volunteers to further enhance their skills to provide excellence in care
- Gather data and outcome measures that will help us to demonstrate the difference we make to patients and to share this with stakeholders who are vital in the future of the charity
- Continue our work in raising people’s awareness of LOROS. This is essential to both ensure that those people who need our support can take advantage of the charity’s wide range of services and to help generate vital funds from the people in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, which represents more than two thirds of the income we need
- Be intelligent in how we run the charity – seeking efficiencies in all areas without compromising the quality of care that is provided
- Complete a major site development that will significantly enhance the space for day therapy and outpatients, allowing us to work with more people even more effectively. In addition we will create a bespoke professional development centre to expand our Education Service with the aim of being a recognised Centre of Excellence in End of Life and Palliative Care
