Sous Chef Salary £22,796 to £23,601 per annum (dependant on experience) 37.5 hours per week - working 5 in 7 days to include Bank Holidays

We are looking for a proactive and passionate individual, with attention for detail, to support our catering team in the delivery of high quality catering services at the LOROS Hospice site. This includes a 31-bed In-Patient Ward, Day Therapy, hospitality for delegates in our Professional Development Centre; staff and visitor dining. As Sous Chef you will assist the Head Chef in leading the catering team by example, primarily to deliver a first class breakfast, lunch and evening meal service seven days a week, all year round to our patients. You must be able to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of allergens and other types of special dietary requirements and ideally have some knowledge of IDDSI descriptors (training will be given to the successful candidate). You will be expected to lead the team whilst on shift to ensure a safe and effective service, working to existing kitchen processes.
Previous experience of working in a professional kitchen cooking fresh produce, ideally in a healthcare environment is desirable. You should have excellent interpersonal skills and experience in managing, motivating and leading a small team to deliver great results.
