24-hour advice line

LOROS has a 24-hour advice line on (0116) 231 3771 for patients and their families and carers.

LOROS staff taking a call The 24-hour advice line is for all for patients (and their families and carers) suffering from a terminal illness, eg cancer, motor neurone disease, heart failure or respiratory failure.

Patients, families and carers can call the line for support and advice regarding the management of symptoms or general concerns regarding a person’s condition.

A nurse or doctor will answer any questions, or if not immediately available will ring back as soon as possible.

Nurse specialist advice line at weekends

The weekend advice line is available from 9am to 5pm and is staffed by a LOROS Nurse Specialist. Professionals and patients (and their families and carers) can call the line for support and advice regarding the management of symptoms or other concerns regarding a patient’s condition.

A patient (or his/her family) does not need to be known to LOROS to access the advice line.

Health and social care professionals can also call both lines for general palliative care advice.
