What is happening to your assets when you die? Get the ball rolling when it comes to writing a Will this May with help from LOROS

LOROS is making it easier to get the ball rolling when it comes to deciding what happens to the things that are most important to you when you have died, thanks to our annual free Will Writing Month.

The Hospice has teamed up with a number of solicitors throughout Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, to offer a free Will writing service throughout the whole of May.

“We understand just how hard it can be talking about what happens to your money and assets when you die but we also recognise just how important it is to make such decisions,” said LOROS Relationship Development Lead, Rachel Hill.

“What happens when you have died should definitely not be left to chance and making a Will ensures that this will never happen.

“We know it can be scary thinking about dying and writing a Will but with help from a number of different friendly solicitors who have all signed up to the campaign, hopefully we can make this process as easy as possible for everyone.”

Although the service is free, a donation of £80 for a single Will and £150 for a joint Will is suggested, to be donated to LOROS.

“Although there is a suggested donation to make to LOROS when creating your Will, there is a no obligation to remember the Hospice in the Will you make,” added Rachel.

The campaign, however, is inspired by the fact that one in four patients that LOROS cares for is paid for thanks to gifts left in Wills.

“We are always extremely grateful to those who leave us a gift in their Will,” added Rachel.

“Without those gifts, however big or small, we wouldn’t be able to continue caring for terminally ill patients and their families every year.”
