Local employee strips down to underpants after fundraising target met for LOROS Hospice campaign

An employee at a Leicester-based printing firm, which has been backing the LOROS Undie-dogs Campaign, has stripped down to his pants after reaching his fundraising target for the Hospice.

Mark Plumb, who works at CSL, in Hinckley Road, Leicester, struck a pose in a pair of specially designed LOROS boxers after recently hitting his target of raising £250 for the charity.

Mark, who is the Head of Service Logistics is among a handful of people, including local celebrities, who signed up to the Undie-dogs Campaign earlier this year.

Speaking about the campaign, Mark said: “I was a bit nervous about doing it at first, but was happy to get involved for a good cause. And the picture looked alright in the end.”

The campaign was inspired by Gary Lineker’s promise to present the first Match of the Day of this football season in just his underwear, which he fulfilled last Saturday, after the Leicester City underdogs clinched the Premier League title back in May.

The campaign asks for people to donate to help reach certain fundraising targets and when each target is met, another celebrity, team or individual will pose in their underwear.

As well as the likes of Hollyoaks star Charlie Clapham, former England cricketer Paul Nixon and former LCFC defender Matt Elliott signed up to the campaign, it also features the Melton Mowbray rugby union club and Graham Messenger, a tattooist from Oadby.

“We’ve been a LOROS supplier for more than 20 years now,” said Michael. “We’ve always been very happy to support them.

“We do as much as we can for LOROS.

“They are such a good charity; I think everybody in Leicester or Leicestershire probably knows somebody through someone who has needed their services.”

Michael said that it took a ‘little persuasion’ to get Mark on board but once he had heard who the campaign was fundraising for he ‘was very willing’.

“We have been fully behind the campaign from day one,” he added.

Michael said LOROS have been the preferred charity of CSL for years.

LOROS Fundraiser, Dave Nicklin, said: “It’s been great having a local company backing our campaign and thanks to Mark they have shown that it’s not just Gary who is brave enough to strip down to his boxers.

“We look forward to getting more people posing in our LOROS branded underwear, but need everyone to donate first.”

The campaign is set to finish at the end of this month.
