LOROS benefits from Christmas competition

On Friday 30th January Adrian Walker, Senior Fundraiser at LOROS, was presented with a cheque from AHS Ltd.

AHS Ltd supplies landscaping and construction products throughout the UK. Based in Northiam, on the East Sussex and Kent border, it actively supports a range of charities through annual donations to both local and national causes.

In December 2014 AHS organised a Christmas game which was hosted on their website and emailed to their customers, as an alternative Christmas card. The game winner was offered a prize of a £500 donation to the charity of their choice. This was the first time the company have given their customers the chance to choose who they donate to.

LOROS was very kindly selected by the winner of the game, Milan Pavlik from East Midlands Landscaping. We were honoured to show Milan around the Hospice and we do hope to build a long lasting partnership with him and the company he represents.

Kay Bullen from AHS said: “Inviting our customers to choose a charity provided us with a much broader scope of the charities considered, putting the spotlight on smaller-scale, regional charities which perhaps don’t have such a huge media presence as others but are doing fantastic work and are just as in need of support, if not more so, than those with a bigger presence.

AHS is delighted to be able to support the great work being achieved at LOROS, which our Sales team member Nathan Fletcher was fortunate to have witnessed on his recent visit to present the £500 cheque. We hope our donation can go a little way to help LOROS continue to support many patients, their families and their carers.”

Adrian Walker, Senior Fundraiser at LOROS said: “It was lovely to meet Nathan and have the opportunity to give him a tour of the Hospice facilities. We would like to thank AHS for organising their Christmas Game and to Milan for nominating LOROS. A donation of £500 is equivalent to a Community Nurse Specialist visiting five of our outpatients at their homes.”
