Friends Julie and Jo have fulfilled their pledge to shave their heads for LOROS.

Jo said: "If you have visited LOROS you are sure to know what a wonderful place it is and how totally amazing the staff are. We wanted to do something to show our appreciation of the work they do and Julie came up with the bonkers idea of having our heads shaved.

"We roped in all our friends, family and work colleagues to help with the sponsorship and we set ourselves a target of £500. We were really thrilled when we raised £1564.60 on the night and since then our total has reached an amazing £3,872.50. We would like to say a huge, huge thank you to everyone who contributed and a very extra special thank you to the very brave Jon Finch, Lee Andrews and Paul Jones who raised £350 on the night by having their chests waxed..oouch!!!!

Adrian Walker, Senior Fundraiser at LOROS said: "I think Jo and Julie are very courageous; having their heads shaved, especially in the winter, couldn't have been an easy thing to do. I think Jo was especially brave, as I understand she was going abroad very shortly afterwards.

"We are very appreciative of all their hard work and, as always, very grateful for their generosity. The money they raised could pay for five specialist nurses for a week and 15 hours of care for one of our in-patients. On behalf of everyone at LOROS and all the patients and families, I would like to offer our sincere thanks."

If you have been heartened by Julie and Jo's fundraising story and would like to make a contribution, their just giving page is still open for donations.
