Challenge Marisa!

Hi, I’m Marisa, the Corporate Fundraiser for LOROS, the Leicestershire and Rutland Hospice and I want your money! Instead of just holding out my hand I figured I could ask you to challenge me and YOU make a donation for my efforts! Just about anything goes!

The Rules:

• Any costs associated with the challenge must be paid by the challenger;
• The fundraising team at LOROS have the final say on all challenges;

All the money raised goes towards our capital appeal, for 11 new single patient rooms for which we need to raise the remaining £470,000 by December.

Why LOROS?

LOROS helps over 2500 patients and their families each year. LOROS must raise over £4 million each year in addition to the appeal. In addition to the 31 inpatient bedded hospice which offers respite and End of life care, LOROS cares for patients in their own home, Manorcroft Day Therapy Unit and the Clinical Nurse Specialist Team (equiv. to Macmillan Nurses). LOROS patients are aged from 18 years upwards, all of whom have a terminal illness. All money donated will be utilized within the same financial year or the beginning of the next. LOROS is not cash rich.

Pick Up a Good Book

To support LOROS, the author Roger Amadis is donating limited numbered editions of his children's books 'The Invisible Hand of Evie Smith' and 'Morag'. Each will have a dedication to LOROS and will be numbered to a limit of 100 copies. Roger will also sign each copy and will, if possible, provide a personal dedication if required.

• Jodie Owens is taking part in the LOROS Skydive in September.
• Mandy Marvelly is treking to Everest Base Camp in December.
• Phil Cooper and Jaishan Mahan with be doing the Marathon des Sables on April 5th 2010.
